Hello World

About Me

The U of I Logo

I am a sophomore studying engineering mechanics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I have always been interested in math and science, and am very excited to do research as a part of the NITARP program.

About our Research

Our group is looking into the formation of Young Stellar Objects (YSOs) near Bright Rimmed Clouds (BRCs). We want to learn more about star formation, and there is a lot we don't know about the very beginning of a star's life. We want to know what causes the gasses from the BRC to collapse and form proto-stars, whether this is just caused by gravity or by an outside force.

What I've Done So Far

Source Matching

Our group has been reviewing the findings of Ogura et. al. and Wiramihardja et. al. We have compared the YSOs found in these to the 2MASS catalog to verify or correct the coordinates within them. We will then compare these results with the results of other pieces of research to see how they differ and where they overlap. To do this work we used the gator (found here) and the finder chart (found here) to locate and verify YSO locations.
