SHIPs Proposal

Abstract

A short, one or two paragraph, summary of the main points:

  • What do we intend to do?
  • Why is it important?
  • How will we do it?

Science Introduction and Context

Topics to consider when writing this section.

  • Background
    • What is the scientific context of the work?
    • Why is this important?
    • What is known, and not known?
  • This work
    • What aspect of the "unknown" will we address in this work?
    • Why is this interesting? How will it help?
  • Target (An important part of carrying on the work).
    • What target did we pick?
    • Why this target?
    • What is known in the literation?
    • What do we expect to find based on above?

Analysis plan

Detailed information on what data are available, and what you plan to do with them (e.g. more than "I'm sure Spitzer/WISE/Planck observed this at some point"). How you are going to reduce the data. Kind of analysis planned. Tools you will use.

===Educational/Outreach plan=== What your team plans to do, individually or as a group. No need to link to standards or describe this in great detail. This also need not be educational research. Most of your work should go into the science portion of the proposal; this is mostly to make sure that you have at least started thinking about the educational aspects of this program.
